ACA Classic Rides

Classic rides have several distance options and no set speed. At the start, each rider is given a map and cue sheet. Riders are generally grouped by distance, each riding at their own pace.

ACA rides are open to any adult recreational cyclist (regardless of membership or affiliation), as well as riders under 18 accompanied by a responsible adult. Riders of all levels, including novice, are encouraged to participate. All rides are on public streets and roads, and all riders ride at their own risk. Carry identification and water bottle(s). Properly worn, approved bicycle helmets are required of all riders. Remember, each rider is responsible for his/her own safety and security.

Rides are canceled at the discretion of the ride starter. Rain cancels all rides. For questions on cold temperatures, please contact the classic ride starter listed for the particular ride. Hosted ride listings have a weather cancellation button that can be checked just prior to ride time.

Pedernales Pedal
Sun, 02/26/2012 - 9:00am
If you enjoy our Dripping Springs-to-Johnson City ride, you’ll love this ride! We’ll take in part of that same route but return to Dripping Springs via different routes. Bring plenty of water, as the only water stop available is on the 63-mile ride. The only water on the 30-mile ride would require a 5-mile total diversion into Pedernales Falls State Park. Rides start at Dripping Springs Middle School (formerly the High School). From the “Y” (US 290 and SH 71 intersection) in Southwest Austin, follow US 290 to Dripping Springs. Go to Tiger Lane 1.9 miles west of the RR 12/US 290 intersection in Dripping Springs. Turn left on Tiger Lane, and the middle school will be on the left. Park in front of the school.
