Fundraising for ACA With Bike Month 2.0
October is often called the Second Bike Month in Austin with the cooler weather and every weekend packed with cycling events. This year, we are skipping a formal October membership meeting and encouraging all our members to celebrate cycling while benefiting Austin Cycling Association.
Austinites love their bikes especially when they are hand-crafted right here in the Lone Star State. The Texas Custom Bicycle Show will be showcasing the workmanship and beauty that is the hand built bike. The show takes place at the Austin Convention Center 10am - 5pm on Oct 15th and 16th. $1 of the entrance fee benefits Austin Cycling Association. Want to get some fast miles in before the show on Sunday? Check the hosted ride schedule for a pre-show ride out to Elroy.
Find more show details including builder profiles on the Texas Custom Bicycle Show website and their FB page.
Tour de Fat will be meandering and pandering to Austin on October 22nd with events all day at Fiesta Gardens including the fabulous Bike Parade at 10am with a new extended route! Check the hosted ride schedule if you want to start the day with a coffee and the Scout-A-Route crew (costumes encouraged!) as they cruise 'cross town to join the festivities.
The day's full schedule is on the Tour de Fat website or FB page.
All proceeds benefit Austin Cycling Association, Yellow Bike Project and Austin Ridge Riders. Volunteers are still needed for shifts all throughout the day, contact Sara at staff
